HSE American Division offers an overall of fourteen years of schooling: 2 years in Pre K and K, 5 years of Elementary education in grades 1-5, 3 years of Middle education in grades 6-7-8, and 4 years of Secondary/High education in grades 9-12
At the High School level, four years of full time attendance as well as completing the required number of credit hours are mandatory for obtaining full credits and receiving a High School diploma.
HSE British Division delivers the full Cambridge National Curriculum supported by the UK National Curriculum from Pre-FS to Year 9.
Highlands School of Egypt makes every attempt at placing students in the proper grade/year level upon admission.
The initial placement of an entering students is made at the time of enrollment and takes into consideration the following:
It is, however, worth noting that if the initial placement of a student in a grade/year level is deemed inappropriate by teachers and administrators within the first six weeks of enrollment, the school reserves the right to reassign the student to another grade level that is more appropriate to his/her academic level. In such cases of change, parents’ notification and approval will be obtained first.
Grade/year level placement is based on the student’s previous school records, fluency and proficiency of the English test (determined by entrance assessments), passing admission assessments, and being of the appropriate admissions age by September 1st of the same school year. The following table shows appropriate admissions age for different grade/year levels for both the British and American Divisions
